It was about 2:30 at night, and Alex was standing on the shore of the lake. She was looking out onto the water, even though she could barely see. There were 2 lanterns lit on the dock, which was about 20 feet away. She had a small rowboat infront of her. There was one oar. She took a deep sigh. Why did I say I would do this?
She looked down at her toes, which were digging into the muddy sand. She had on a pair of old jean shorts, and a white tank-top. Her hair was up in a messy bun. Her eyes were slightly glistening from the lanterns over by the dock. She had a large, beige beach bag with her - filled with a towel and a black string bikini with small, faded grey stars randomly placed on it, her phone, a pen and paper, and a bottle of water. She took another deep sigh and sat down in the boat, grabbing her beachbag and placing it in the boat. She took out a slip of paper from her pocket, and tryed to read it. She looked up at the starry night sky, shutting her eyes. She looked back down and put the peice of paper on the bottom of the boat. She took her oar and started to row.
She went about 2 miles out, then saw a small creek. She changed into her bikini and put her clothes in her beach bag. She took out a large waterproof bag and dumped all of her belongings in it. She left the beachbag in the boat, jumped in the water, then pulled the boat to the nearest land. She took a rope and tied it to the boat, then around a near by tree. She then swam over to where the creek was, the water getting more shallow.
Once she was in the creek which was knee-deep, she walked around. She saw a twisted tree with no leaves, with small carvings in it. She took 20 steps forward, then came to a stop. The creek now went 3 different ways. She turned to the right. It started getting deeper, and when it was 2 inches abover her belly button, it became a large, abandoned pond/spring/lake[thingymabobber]. There was a shack[shak whatever.] to the left. It was old and abandoned, about 100 years old. There were trees and tropical everythings around her. There was a small waterfall over to the right.
She swam over to the shack. She climbed onto the dock and set her stuff down. She became curious. She looked up at the small hut, then started to climb the stairs. Hmm. This looks fimiliar. She looked in the dusty glass window, and couldn't see even and inch inside. She put her hand out to the door, twisted the knob, and pushed. It was very squicky, but she went in anyways. She walked in. She saw an unlit lantern on the ceiling. She looked around and saw a match. She took it and somehow lit it, then threw it in the latern, shutting the small door to it. The room instantly lit up. She looked around. There was a small, messy desk infront of her, with papers and maps and shells. There were jars and containers and shelves of everything imaginable everywhere. There were 2 chests, one was open, the other closed. There was a small wooden staircase leading upstairs. She looked closely at the desk again. There was a pen ontop of a peice of paper with writing on it. 2 inches beside it was ink that was spilled. There were silver and gold coins on the floor. There were old cages hanging on the ceiling, with bones of different animals. She looked at it in disgust. She shook her head, getting the look off her face. She walked into the room beside it. It had a wooden chair in the far corner, and to the oppisite side was a shelf that reached to the ceiling. There were dusty jars, old papers, and rum bottles filling up each shelf. There were old books open up on the floor and paper on the floor. She shrugged. She didn't dare go upstairs. When she got to the first room, she took the lantern and took it outside.
There were 2 large sticks, one on the left side of the dock and one on the right. The left one had an unlit latern, and the right one was empty. Alex hooked the lit lantern on the empty stick. She took a lighter out of her bag, then lit the left lantern. It became much brighter. She could see across the small-sized lake. [about 50 feet diameter] [The dock is about 10 feet between each stick.] She took a seat down on the dock, waiting for Hina.
